Ell Graniel began her fitness career in 1983 when her boyfriend’s martial arts instructor and owner of the facility, wanted to earn more income by offering fitness classes to the “ladies” during the slower hours of his business. Ell offered to help, and taught aerobic dance classes every day from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. It was a success and the beginning of her career. During her time of building knowledge, classes, and a reputation in the health and fitness industry, Ell taught Oral Communication, and College Survival courses at Brooks College in Long Beach, CA while free lancing as a key-note speaker on Confidence for high school students, and co-producing Women’s Council in Action, on the local cable network.
Since then, Ell has become a certified group fitness professional with AFAA, and has been certified in multiple specialty certifications that vary from Cycle to Country Fit. She is also an IDEA Pro, has presented at IDEA World fitness, and written for their publications. In addition, she has led trainings for Chalene Johnson’s (Turbo Kick, Jam & Fire) presenter camps and Beachbody’s presenter search. Her leadership extended into becoming a group fitness director for 24 Hour Fitness, where she worked for nearly 24 years, then on to group fitness and special events at The Oahu Club when she relocated from California to Hawaii in 2006.
Ell has always been fascinated by language and the power of words. She earned her B.A. in Communication, and has written for several magazines and newspapers. Her book “Chocolate Cake for the Thighs – the anti diet book for women” was published in 2006 and can still be easily found on Amazon.com (under the name L.Kae Graniel). In 1997 she became certified in Transformational Meditation (TfM) with The International Academy of Self-Knowledge where she also trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Meyers – Briggs Type Indicator, and the Enneagram Personality predictor.
Ell’s dream is to motivate people into looking forward to fun movement that improves the quality of their lives. She is passionate that a healthy mind and body should go hand in hand. The purpose of Country Fit™ is to get people off the couch, and away from cell phones and computers for just long enough to burn calories, shape up, and remember that our bodies are designed to move.
Welcome to the dream.
